Journey, Imagine, Nest, Power, Symbolism,
Ekphrastic, and Enduring
How are these seven words related?
Over a period of seven months during 2017, eleven women artists used these iconic words for artistic inspiration. Each word conjured up vivid imagery mined from personal experiences, poignant memories, or challenging situations.
The size of each work was roughly kept to 12" x 12". The media and platforms used were entirely up to each artist.
Embarking on seven months of inventiveness with open-ended goals, they discovered new resourcefulness, faced 'engineering' obstacles, refined new techniques and found inspiration in each other's artwork.
Seven of the artists are members of The ArtDivas. Four guests artists were also invited to participate. They were Janet Barnes, Jane Corich, Christine Long, and Chris Meade.
Books are available for purchase.
Professionally we are Artists, Teachers, Mentors, and Business Women who have exhibited in events and galleries in Solano, Napa and Yolo counties, cities in Northern California as well as towns across America.
Collectively we support Advocates for the Arts, Arts Benicia, Fairfield Visual Arts Association, Lawler House Gallery, Trilogy Art Guild, Solano County Arts Council, and the Vacaville Art League and Gallery.
